Studio Arts Festival...June 2, 2007

Doreen and I will be at the City of Irvine's Studio Arts Festival this Saturday, June 2nd. You can go to their web site receive more information about this great event. This is their 13th year! The weather will be beautiful, it is a wonderful setting by the lake to stroll about, and besides ourselves there are over 100 artists participating. "Each year, the Irvine Fine Arts Center hosts the Studio Arts Festival, an Irvine Fine Arts Center fundraiser, in beautiful Heritage Park. Join us at the beginning of June for a firsthand look and opportunity to purchase some of the finest artwork by Southern California artists including many Art Center instructors and patrons. Over 100 artists participate and include a variety of disciplines from ceramics, sculpture, jewelry, painting, photography, textiles, glass art, gourd art and more!

Enjoy live music and food around the lagoon as you spend a spring day shopping for fine art. Come out and relax with us and see demonstrations of how these artists produce such wonderful artwork. Past demonstrations have included ceramic wheel-throwing, portrait sculpture, plein air painting, and weaving. Spend the day Saturday enjoying what the Irvine Fine Arts Center has to offer you."

Wool-alternative Fashion Handbags and Unique Purses

We recently received an email from a visitor to our Web site that we wanted to share with all of you faithful blog readers.

The visitor asked:
“I love your fashion purses and would really like to buy one. I’m allergic to wool though, and I am wondering if you make any products out of other materials.”

This is a question we receive quite often and we want to get the word out that we in fact do carry wool-alternative bags for women with allergies. While many of our unique purses and fashion scarves are made out of high-end Noro wool yarns, we also carry many non-wool options. Many of our fashion purses are made of cotton materials and are an ideal alternative for someone with a wool allergy. In addition, we also offer worsted purses that are equally as unique and interesting as our popular wool handbags.

Sugar Plum Boutique Show...March 29-30!

Holiday Boutiques and Sales! Unique Purses!

Doreen and I are finishing up our year with a flurry of local boutiques. Purse Time's last boutique will be on December 2nd at the Holiday Hearth Bazaar in Brea. It is hosted by the Brea Glenbrook Women's Club. We were invited to participate in this years boutique by the Women's Club, after they viewed our unique purses and knitted items at another boutique. We were excited to be invited to participate, as this is a very select group of participants and we are honored they thought our purses were so fashionable and unique. On November 28th we participated in the Fluor Corp employees boutique held at their corporate offices in Aliso Viejo, CA.

We will be taking a break to get ready for our Spring line. We are excited and have such great ideas, that we can't wait to get started researching new yarns and starting new patterns. Be sure to start checking the web site frequently to see what will be our newest creations.
